One parts family, four brand names

Whirlpool Corporation also makes Maytag, KitchenAid and Amana appliances. Many older Kenmore washers and dryers sold at Sears were built by Whirlpool too. Because these brands share platforms and parts, they’re among the easiest appliances to repair, and parts are widely available.

That matters in older Harrisburg homes, where a 15-year-old Whirlpool top-load washer or a Maytag dryer is often still worth fixing. We’ll tell you honestly when it is and when it isn’t.

We are an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized service center for Whirlpool. Whirlpool is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to describe the appliances we repair. If your appliance is still under the manufacturer’s warranty, contact Whirlpool first, since an outside repair may affect that coverage.

Whirlpool repair FAQs

Are you a Whirlpool authorized service center?

No. We’re an independent repair company and not affiliated with Whirlpool, Maytag or KitchenAid. If your appliance is under the factory warranty, contact the manufacturer first.

Is Maytag the same as Whirlpool?

Maytag is owned by Whirlpool Corporation, and many Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Amana models share platforms and parts.

Do you repair older Kenmore washers and dryers?

Yes. Many Kenmore laundry machines were built by Whirlpool, and the model number tells us which parts fit.

What does F9 E1 mean on a Whirlpool washer?

It’s a long-drain error. Clean the drain pump filter and check the drain hose for kinks. If it returns, the drain pump may need to be replaced.

Is it worth fixing a 10-year-old Whirlpool washer?

Often it is. Whirlpool-family machines are relatively simple and parts are inexpensive, so many common repairs cost far less than a new washer.
